Build log

Notes from building it

Short entries about decisions we’ve actually made. No dates — we’d only be inventing a schedule. The number goes up when something real happens.

entries: 11 so far
cadence: When there’s something to say
tone: Occasionally unflattering

#011Design
A new look got checked before it shipped
A glassier, more premium visual direction landed on the dashboard and product navigation — after fixing what didn't actually work yet.
#010Design
Loopwise got a proper UI pass
Less about adding polish, more about checking what was already there and fixing what wasn't earning its place.
#009Product
The dashboard could not be reached
On a phone, the only working button in the entire learner product was log out.
#008Website
The site got smaller
We moved the useful details out of the homepage so the main idea could be easier to find.
#007Support
Support has a home
Questions should not have to find their way through a general inbox.
#006Infrastructure
The site learned its address
Search engines need the same clarity from a site that learners do.
#005Product
We deleted the video player
It worked. It was nice. It was also the reason lessons kept getting longer.
#004Engineering
The editor stopped being slow
Nobody notices a fast editor. Everybody notices a slow one.
#003Writing
Writing lesson one, eleven times
The first lesson is the whole product. Everything after it is easier.
#002Scope
Two languages, not eight
We listed everything we wanted to teach, then had an uncomfortable conversation.
#001Beginning
Why we started
Four unfinished courses, one shared complaint.

↳Older notes exist in a shared document and are mostly us disagreeing about lesson length. We’ve spared you those.
